How the Piping Foot Works:

The piping foot features a deep groove on its underside that holds the piping cord in place and guides it smoothly as you sew. This design allows the needle to stitch very close to the cord without sewing through it, ensuring consistent, straight stitching right against the edge of the piping—difficult to achieve with a standard or even a zipper foot. The groove width (1/8" or 3/16") should match the diameter of the cording you're using for best results. The hinged metal shank allows the foot to navigate varying fabric thicknesses smoothly.

Choosing the Right Size:

• 1/8" Foot: For smaller diameter cording (approximately 1/8" or 3mm). Ideal for delicate piping on garments, pillows, and lightweight projects

Using the Foot:

1. Creating Custom Piping: Cut bias fabric strip. Wrap strip around cording with right side out. Place wrapped cord under foot with cord in groove. Stitch close to cord using straight stitch—fabric wraps around cord creating custom piping
2. Attaching Piping to Fabric: Place piping on right side of fabric with raw edges aligned. Position piping cord in groove. Stitch close to cord, attaching piping to fabric edge
3. Inserting Piping into Seams: Place piping on right side of one fabric layer. Place second fabric layer on top, right sides together, sandwiching piping. Position cord in groove. Stitch close to cord—final seam is snug against cord with previous stitching hidden
4. Adjust Needle Position: Move needle position left or right if needed to stitch closer to cord

• Use bias-cut fabric strips for custom piping to allow smooth curves
