How the Straight Stitch Foot Works:

The snap-on straight stitch foot features a small, round needle hole instead of the wide slot found on general-purpose feet. This small hole provides maximum fabric support directly around the needle, which prevents lightweight and delicate fabrics from being pushed down into the needle plate opening. The result is smooth, pucker-free straight stitching even on challenging fabrics like silk and chiffon. The all-metal construction ensures consistent, even pressure on the fabric and smooth feeding through the machine. Important: Requires Snap-On Shank Adapter

This is a snap-on foot and requires the Snap-On Shank Adapter (Part #542167) to be installed on your machine. The snap-on shank is sold separately. Once you have the snap-on shank installed, this foot simply snaps on and off for quick, tool-free changes.

Important Note: Straight Stitch Only

This foot is designed for straight stitch sewing only. The small, round needle hole will not accommodate zigzag or decorative stitches. If you attempt to use zigzag stitches with this foot, the needle will hit the foot and break. Always switch to a general-purpose foot with a wide needle slot when using zigzag or decorative stitches.

Using the Foot:

1. Install Snap-On Shank: Make sure snap-on shank adapter is installed on your machine (sold separately)
2. Snap On Foot: Position straight stitch foot under shank and press up until it clicks into place
3. Select Straight Stitch: Set machine to straight stitch (center needle position recommended)
4. Position Fabric: Place fabric under foot
5. Sew: Stitch with straight stitch. Small needle hole prevents puckering on lightweight fabrics
6. Remove Foot: Press release lever on shank and foot drops off
